The oldest living ancestors have been found in Ethiopia by archaeologists Ardipithecus ramidus kadabba  5.8-5.2 million years ago and Australopithecus anamensis 4.2 million years old.Ethiopia is the oldest sub-Saharan African country. its Solomonic dynasty it descendent of Kin Menelik is believed to be son of queen Sheba and King Solomon.Different people have migrated here from different regions at different time periods like the Hamatic people who migrated in prehistoric times from Asia Minor, Semetic traders from Arabia in the 7th century b.c. Coptic Christianity cam to the region in 341 a.d. and a type of it became Ethiopia's state religion. Ancient Ethiopia reached its highest moment in the 5th century and then got tooken over by Islam before wars began.
The modern Ethiopia came about in 1896 by emperor Menelik II who routed an Italian invasion and got Ethiopia's independence. After expanding by conquest and keeping the throne in the family Tafari, Menelik's cousin, took the throne in 1930 and was given the name Emperor Haile Selassie I. He outlawed slavery and tried to centralize the land, in which there was 70 different languages, in 1931 and had it revised in 1955.Fascist Italy took over Ethiopia on Oct. 3, 1935, and forced Haile Selassie into exile on May 1936. Ethiopia was annexed to Eritrea, then an turned into an Italian colony, then to Italian Somaliland, and formed Italian East Africa. In 1941Britain ousted the Italians and Selassie returned and in 1952 Eritrea was incorporated by Ethiopia.
